Joey 🐶

  • Animal ID#: A333411
  • Dog Name: Joey
  • Dog Sex: Male
  • Approximate Age: 10 months
  • This adorable, precious boy is finding his brave! He’s gorgeous and soft with very kind eyes – absolutely lovely! Getting low to the ground and sweet talking him really helps! Once you show him some affectionate, he will gently walk up for some more. The chaotic shelter is very scary for this soft, submissive boy! We suspect he would be OK with children, just keeping in mind a loud, chaotic home would overwhelm him. He participates in shelter playgroups with gentle and playful dogs, and while they’re scary at first, they really help him come out of his shell. He will flourish in a loving home!

Meeting Dogs at the Stockton Shelter

The shelter’s kennels are loud, stressful places for dogs. Some dogs express that stress by exhibiting behavior inside a kennel that they will not show otherwise. Please ask to take the dog you are interested into a play yard and spend some time getting to know him or her in that more relaxed environment. For more information on meeting dogs at the shelter, please read this article.
