Stella 🐶

  • Animal ID#: A319092
  • Dog Name: Stella
  • Dog Sex: Female
  • Approximate Age: 1 year
  • This precious girl is shaking and so overwhelmed in the chaotic shelter environment. Getting low to the ground and sweet talking this girl goes a long way. Then her whole body will shake as you pet her, but she will ever so gently move closer to you for more affection. We want to see this softie in a home with a gentle and patient family ASAP.  She participates in shelter playgroups with gentle and dainty dogs, but we suspect once she’s more comfy in a home, she’ll show a more playful side. She so deserves the best, and we can’t wait to see her develop confidence in a wonderful home!
  • On Dog Day Out, this girl did wonderfully: “She was so good. She is shy at first but once she warmed up she just wanted to give kisses and be loved. She was nervous about getting into the car but once she got in she laid right down and enjoyed the car ride to victory park where she had a wonderful walk. After her walk she jumped right into the car and came to our house where we let her investigate our yard and home. Her favorite spot was on our couch watching TV with us or watching me cook in the kitchen lol! Stella did love chasing the dog toys but there was so much more to smell in the backyard she would get distracted. She was really well behaved as you can see in the pictures and enjoyed herself immensely.”

Meeting Dogs at the Stockton Shelter

The shelter’s kennels are loud, stressful places for dogs. Some dogs express that stress by exhibiting behavior inside a kennel that they will not show otherwise. Please ask to take the dog you are interested into a play yard and spend some time getting to know him or her in that more relaxed environment. For more information on meeting dogs at the shelter, please read this article.
