- This gorgeous girl is a sweetpea. She participated in shelter playgroups with gentle and dainty dogs. Her foster gushes about this ladies’ girl (she loves women!): “This gal has been sweet, happy, mannerly, and easy-going with a calm presence. Her energy level (low to medium) and size (sturdy compact nugget) hits that perfect medium zone. She is house trained, crate trained, and mannerly on the leash. She is a flexible companion with a go anywhere, do anything attitude — she’ll hangout with you, or be active with you (she’s a sprinter not a marathoner). She enjoys attention but isn’t pushy for it. She loves walks and investigating the world around her, and she checks-in with glances at you along the way. She is an outstanding passenger in the car. She loves challenges like Kong toys with hard to remove treats stuffed inside and chew bones. She is calm and fully cooperative with handling– you can clip her nails, clean her teeth, clean her ears, and she’ll roll on her back for belly rubs. She’s amazing!!!

Meeting Dogs at the Stockton Shelter
The shelter’s kennels are loud, stressful places for dogs. Some dogs express that stress by exhibiting behavior inside a kennel that they will not show otherwise. Please ask to take the dog you are interested into a play yard and spend some time getting to know him or her in that more relaxed environment. For more information on meeting dogs at the shelter, please read this article.
