Abe

  • Animal ID#: A307761
  • Dog Name: Abe
  • Dog Sex: Male
  • Approximate Age: 4 years
  • Poor Abe came to the shelter significantly torn up, but he’s so ready to leave his past behind him. As he healed, he realized people are a good thing and not so cruel. When you’re low to the ground and use sweet talking, it helps put him at ease. He will approach you and gently stand by your side for affection. It’s beyond sweet how when you’re done petting him, he will lick your hand to say thank you. If you step back, he ever-so-gently approaches again and nuzzles his head into you for more affection. No other dogs for this sweetie pie. He just needs a loving and gentle family who will shows him how amazing home life can be!

Meeting Dogs at the Stockton Shelter

The shelter’s kennels are loud, stressful places for dogs. Some dogs express that stress by exhibiting behavior inside a kennel that they will not show otherwise. Please ask to take the dog you are interested into a play yard and spend some time getting to know him or her in that more relaxed environment. For more information on meeting dogs at the shelter, please read this article.
