• Animal ID#: A305813
  • Dog Name: Oatmeal
  • Dog Sex: Male
  • Approximate Age: 1 year
  • This is one very sweet guy who’s terrified in the shelter environment. He’s looking for a patient and committed adopter to give him the time and space he needs to feel comfortable and come out of his shell. Once he gets to know you, he solicits attention and wants to be close to you. He participates in shelter playgroups with gentle and dainty dogs. He’d do best in a home without young children due to his fear, which causes him to want to flee. With some confidence and family living, this boy will really thrive and be a totally different dog in no time.

Meeting Dogs at the Shelter

The shelter’s kennels are loud, stressful places for dogs. Some dogs express that stress by exhibiting behavior inside a kennel that they will not show otherwise. Please ask to take the dog you are interested into a play yard and spend some time getting to know him or her in that more relaxed environment. For more information on meeting dogs at the shelter, please read this article.
