• Animal ID#: A304667
  • Dog Name: Sparky
  • Dog Sex: Male
  • Approximate Age: 8 months
  • This guy is much too soft and timid for the shelter environment. He’s very shy when meeting new people. While he is showing to be more brave and willing to approach, he will need an adopter who will take things slow and give him time to acclimate to being a family pet. We don’t suggest young children for this boy due to fear. He participates in shelter playgroups with playful dogs, but in the chaotic shelter environment, takes some time to show his playful side. We expect this handsome young guy to start to thrive in a home!

Meeting Dogs at the Shelter

The shelter’s kennels are loud, stressful places for dogs. Some dogs express that stress by exhibiting behavior inside a kennel that they will not show otherwise. Please ask to take the dog you are interested into a play yard and spend some time getting to know him or her in that more relaxed environment. For more information on meeting dogs at the shelter, please read this article.
